Here's a look at my set up on some farm land that I have permission to hunt in Springwater Township.

On my drive to the farm along Vigo road this morning (7:45am), I saw a rather large coyote motoring across the field and across the road in front of me. As far as the hunt went, I didn't see any yotes, but lots of sign. I stopped in to talk to the land owner there and he said that the coyotes where yipping last night near his barn at about 2:00am. On Saturday morning(5:00am)he said there was a group of coyotes hanging around 50 yards from his barn. This is a sheep farm and his adjoining neighbor is a cattle/pig farmer. I will be into the area before first light next week.

Did you ever take one? Also did you consider setting up in the barn before first light with your meat block set up there? http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h298/animalsaredelicious/gifs/animal-smiley-019.gif

No luck. I don't know if the farmer would go for it but that is a great sugestion, thanks. He is kind of luke warm on hunting coyotes, as he believes that if you take out a numbers yotes, more will move in. I will ask him as well as the cattle farmer beside him.

Good luck on the coyote hunt.  Farmers hate having hunters too close to their buildings because the shooting may disturb their animals or even be a danger to them.  Can't say I really blame them with the cost of raising them these days.

You are what you eat.  What would you rather be, a beast or a vegetable?
