Went out Saturday morning, back to Pefferlaw to give it another shot. My buddy and I set up our blind a little closer to where the turkeys had appeared last week, just so we were in closer range for a crossbow. But, it turns out this time the same group of turkeys decided to drop down closer to where we were last weekend. This time only the eight hens were out, all of them came 30 yards from our blind. We tried some soft purrs to get them to come in closer to hopefully entice the boys to come out, but that didn't work. It turns out the jakes and one tom never showed up. We got lots of rain and bugs though. Regardless, it was still a great time.

I'm glad you got back out. With the thunderstorms that rolled through early Saturday morning I think the gobblers stayed in the roost longer. I was out glassing short grass fields seeing just a few hens. Well there's the Fall hunt to look forward to.
