Harvested crop land that is flooded. 3. An area where crops are properly stacked for the purposes of drying or storage in the field where they grow. 4. An area where grain is scattered solely as a result of normal agricultural or harvesting operations. O. Reg. 144/08, s. 5. Please refer to the Ontario Hunting Regulations Summary for more information on Firearms for turkey hunting (pg. 22); Sealing and Transporting or Mandatory Reporting of a harvested turkey (pgs. 29-31). Reminders To hunt wild turkey in Ontario you must have a turkey licence. To obtain a licence you need to complete Ontario’s turkey hunter education seminar and pass an exam. The schedule of seminar locations and dates is available from the O.F.A.H. at (705) 748-6324 or on their website at www.ofah.org. Ontario residents wishing to hunt wild turkeys in the fall must have: • A valid hunting version Outdoors Card • A small game licence (the sticker that goes on the back of the Outdoors Card) or an E-licence • A fall wild turkey licence and game seal Ontario’s fall wild turkey season is open to non-residents who: • Are accredited hunters (see page 19 of the Ontario Hunting Regulations Summary for details) • Have purchased a non-resident’s small game licence and a fall wild turkey licence Fall Turkey Hunting Safety: Turkey hunting safety is the same in the fall as it is in the spring. However, turkey hunters are reminded that in the fall other popular outdoor recreational activities are taking place including other hunting and non-consumptive activities such as hiking and camping. The most important safety consideration remains – CLEARLY IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET and be sure it’s safe to shoot. Be conscious and respectful of other outdoor users. Trespass: It is an offence under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997, for anyone to trespass for the purpose of hunting or fishing. A hunting licence does not give hunters the right to enter or cross private property. ALWAYS ask for permission and obey signs. Positive landowner/hunter relationships are important to future of hunting. --Last edited by tracer on 2008-10-11 06:34:51 -- |
