Heading out this morning to see if I can get a goose for diner. Good luck to everyone heading out for the opener.

Setup in a corn field, saw some good flocks in the skies but none came in close enough. Saw six geese fly in low to the next corn field so I moved to investigate. Moving slowly between the fence row and the corn, I checked the next field over which was cut wheat. Low and behold there is a coyote standing 40 yards out. I took a shot and he jumped, and than a second shot,missed, and he ran down field into the corn. I looked for blood but could not find any or any sign of the coyote. This is one yote that won't be chasing any deer for awhile, if at all.
